Anne Kathleen Reid – from High Point, NC graduated from high Point Central High School. Annie has been awarded one of only ten North Carolina Textile Foundation Centennial Scholarships to study in a textile degree program at NC State. The Centennial scholarship is the largest college-based scholarship offered at NC State University and is valued at nearly $48,000. As a part of this scholarship, Annie will have access to $7,500 in enrichment funds for educational and cultural activities beyond the classroom, such as study abroad, career exploration trips and attending leadership conferences. Annie was a member of the Student Council and Key Club all for years. Annie also participated in the Teens Helping Others and the Science National Honor Society. Annie is a founding member of the S.O.S. Medicine and now acts as a co-chair to assist cancer patients in receiving their medications. Annie also helps her community by participating in Crop Walk, 30 hours famine, and Juvenile Diabetes Walk. Annie was a part of the varsity soccer team all for years where she was captain in 2008, and she has danced for the past 13 years. Annie intends to major in Polymer and Color Chemistry.
