Jasmine Adair Flood – from Winterville, NC graduated from South Central High School. Jasmine has been awarded one of only ten North Carolina Textile Foundation Centennial Scholarships to study in a textile degree program at NC State. In addition, she has also earned a Park Scholarship, the most prestigious University-wide scholarship offered to students attending NC State. These two honors make Jasmine one of only two Park-Centennial Scholars in a freshmen class of more than 3,500 students. The Centennial scholarship is the largest college-based scholarship offered at NC State University and is valued at nearly $48,000. As a part of this scholarship, Jasmine will have access to $7,500 in enrichment funds for educational and cultural activities beyond the classroom, such as study abroad, career exploration trips and attending leadership conferences. Jasmine served as vice president of the Beta Club, was a member of the National Honor Society, and has served as class and student body president. Because of Jasmines hard work she was eligible to be a Junior Marshall, which is an honor for being in the top ten percent of the class. Jasmine is most proud of the Art Award she received for her creative ideas, hard work ethic, and artistic abilities. Throughout high-school Jasmine participated in basketball, tennis, and track. During the summer of 2007, Jasmine participated in the Summer Textile Exploration Program through the Wilson College of Textiles. Jasmine intends to study Textile Technology and Art and Design (Anni Albers Program) with hopes to one day sell her own print designs internationally.
