Throughout the school year, the College of Textiles Fashion Group is holding a clothing donation service project. The student group is asking that students and faculty at Textiles and across campus go through their closets and donate their unwanted clothing items.

Mike Hale [TE, 1972] received the 2016 Distinguished Alumni Award for the College of Textiles on Oct. 27. Mike, a leader in the nonwovens industry. serves on the board of directors of the North Carolina Textile Foundation (NCTF) and supports students through an endowment he established with his wife Jean.

2017 Wilson College Bookmark Competition to Celebrate Carter-Finley

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Carter-Finley Stadium, the College of Textiles invites alumni, students, faculty and staff to honor this milestone and the contributions of the Carter family in the way only we can: by designing a bookmark that incorporates Carter-Finley into the design. Wilbert J. “Nick” Carter (‘24) and Harry C. Carter (‘32) were both graduates of what was then the School of Textiles at NC State College.

Textile Students Visit STOLL Flat Knitting Machines Producer

As part of their study abroad experience during the summer of 2016, six students from NC State's College of Textiles visited the headquarters of STOLL Machine Works in Reutlingen, Germany, a traditional center for textiles and textile machinery. STOLL, a manufacturer of flat-knitting machines, has been in business for over 140 years.
