It’s been about a year since Emily Harris graduated from the Wilson College of Textiles with a bachelor’s degree in Fashion and Textile Management, and what a year she’s had! From taking her blog from hobby to business, to opening a storefront for her own boutique, she’s making the most of entrepreneurial life.
Three Textile Technology students won the Fourth Annual APICS Triangle Chapter Student Case Competition along with another finalist team from Duke University. NC State's team was composed of Wilson College of Textiles students Amor Camatcho, Kenneth Bradbury and Aidan Special.
Dr. Warren Jasper has received the NC State University Outstanding Extension Service Award (OESA) for the 2018-2019 academic year. The OESA acknowledges exceptional extension engagement and economic development activities and honors faculty and staff for these efforts.
Jeff Blessinger, extension specialist and Lean Six Sigma program manager for the Zeis Textiles Extension (ZTE) at the Wilson College of Textiles, has received NC State’s Outstanding Extension Service Award in honor of his exceptional extension engagement and economic development activities for the university.
The Wilson College of Textiles is proud to introduce one of its newest assistant professors: Dr. Mengmeng Zhu. Last November, the assistant professor entered the Department of Textile Engineering, Chemistry and Science and since then has been making strides towards research and sharing her findings among students, faculty and the community. Zhu has been a recipient of several select scholarships and awards during her pursuit of further knowledge and continues to make an impact in academia today.

To demonstrate the research of our students, the Textile Association of Graduate Students (TAGS) has developed an image contest that will display submitted discoveries to hundreds of individuals.
If your work involves the production or testing of high-performance athletic apparel and/or advanced garment systems for the military and first responders, you won't want to miss Clothing Comfort and Protection Science, a three-day course taught by experts at the world-renowned Textile Protection and Comfort Center (TPACC) at the College of Textiles at NC State University. The course will be held April 30 to May 2.
Jesse Jur, associate professor in the department of Textile Engineering, Chemistry and Science (TECS) at NC State’s Wilson College of Textiles, has been named a 2018-19 University Faculty Scholar by Chancellor Randy Woodson for his dedication to serving the university community through scholarship, research and engagement.
