Wilson College of Textiles Assistant Professor Kate Nartker is joining an elite class of world-renowned researchers. She has been selected to participate in the U.S. government’s flagship educational and cultural exchange program as a 2022-23 Fulbright Scholar.

Nartker, who teaches textile design at the Wilson College, will travel to Gothenburg, Sweden, in the Spring of 2023.

“My proposal was based on the idea of integrating traditional crafts with new technologies,” she says.

While there, she’ll teach a series of workshops on jacquard weaving and research traditional Swedish weaving techniques at the HDK-Valand Academy of Art and Design.
