Meet One of the Newest Members of Our Wilson College Family: Ana Cristina Gonzalez de Alba
Meet Ana Cristina Gonzalez de Alba, one of the Wilson College of Textiles’ newest project managers!

What was your path to this position?
At Universidad Panamericana (2017–2024), I held multiple leadership roles focused on global program management, experiential learning and student development. As a program coordinator, I oversaw strategic planning and execution for undergraduate programs, managed international student exchanges, organized large-scale academic events and led student engagement initiatives. I coordinated national certifications, directed a team of 20+ and developed recruitment strategies.
As manager of the Business and Management International Case Competition, I led a team of over 40 people to organize a prestigious global case competition, managed partnerships with top universities and companies and secured sponsorships.
As advisor and manager of the International Business Consultancy Club, I trained high-performance teams for global case competitions, managed competition calendars and developed training programs like the Business Consulting Summer Camp.
I also organized national and international conferences, handling logistics, sponsorships, marketing and execution. As an adjunct professor, I taught courses on business innovation, global management and geopolitics, incorporating case studies and industry collaboration.
Why were you interested in this position / in working at the Wilson College?
I was interested in this position because it aligns perfectly with my expertise in managing international projects, strategic planning and academic initiatives. Initially, my involvement with the Hilando Oportunidades project allowed me to apply my global management skills while working on an impactful program. Additionally, the Wilson College of Textiles is a prestigious institution.
What are your duties on a day-to-day basis?
My day-to-day duties primarily revolve around project management, which includes coordinating timelines, overseeing deliverables, managing stakeholder communication and ensuring smooth execution of initiatives. I also handle strategic planning, collaboration with partners and problem-solving to keep projects on track.
What is your favorite part of your job and/or working at the Wilson College of Textiles?
I love managing projects and having the freedom to be creative in my work. My boss is very supportive of my ideas and approach, which makes a huge difference. Additionally, the people at the Wilson College of Textiles and in my department are incredibly kind and collaborative, creating a great work environment.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I love running, playing tennis, cooking while listening to music and reading a good novel before going to bed.
