Meet a Member of Our Wilson College Family: Bridget Inzirillo
Meet staff member Bridget Inzirillo, our assistant dean of finance and operations.
- Hometown: Downingtown, PA
- Position: Assistant Dean of Finance and Operations
- Joined the college: March 2023
What was your path to this position?
It’s been a great journey! I’ve had the pleasure of working for a number of universities over the years, serving in roles that span both academic operations and student affairs. I originally studied history and education at a small liberal arts college in Pennsylvania, before going on to complete my master’s in higher education administration at The University of Alabama (Roll Tide!).
I loved learning about all aspects of higher education and later completed another master’s in public administration at the University of Connecticut, where I focused on public budgeting and finance. Along the way, I did a little bit of everything – from residence life and orientation to finance, human resources and data analytics.
What are your duties on a day-to-day basis?
I currently manage three distinct areas: the Business Office, Textiles Creative and Technology Services, and the Textiles Facilities Office. My days are dynamic, often involving shifting between various individuals and issues.
A significant part of my time is dedicated to the financial oversight of the college. This responsibility involves many complex components and small details, so I frequently focus on addressing questions, challenges and projects related to the college’s financial matters.
What is your favorite part of your job at the Wilson College of Textiles?
I love data and process improvement, so it’s very exciting for me when I am able to carve out a chunk of time to dive into projects that involve data or processes. Ultimately, I hope we are constantly striving to improve the way we do things to better serve our colleagues and students. Any opportunity to better serve others is a highlight of my day.
What do you find most valuable about your work at the Wilson College of Textiles?
I think of myself (and my teams) as a support system for all of the people doing amazing teaching, research, service and extension work. We are working behind the scenes to provide the best support and infrastructure possible so that everyone else can do their thing!
What is your favorite memory from your time at the Wilson College of Textiles?
I can’t think of just one… but the “Think and Brew” coffee pop-up events for Wilson College colleagues are always a highlight. It’s such a great opportunity to grab great coffee and catch up with work friends. I love seeing so many people from units across the college coming together to hang out, even if it’s just for a few minutes. It is so simple, and yet profoundly meaningful, when people come together voluntarily for no other reason than to enjoy each others’ company.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I spend most of my time outside of work chasing my two energetic boys around and attempting to develop them into kind, well-adjusted children. It is quite an uphill battle! We are always involved in some sort of sport or activity – usually some combination of baseball, basketball, swimming, running or field hockey.
