Lord Tutoring Center in the Wilson College of Textiles provides&nbsp;<strong>FREE tutoring<\/strong>&nbsp;services for textile and non-textile courses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hours<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Monday to Thursday from 3-6:30 p.m.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tutoring for the Fall 2024 semester will begin Monday, August 26 and end Tuesday, December 3.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Location<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Textiles Complex, Room 3280.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Classes Supported<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Our tutors change semester-to-semester; the courses supported through the Peter R. Lord Tutoring Center will be updated on this website each semester. Wilson College of Textiles tutor schedules and the courses they support are outlined below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students are expected to come with any books, pencils, notes, calculators, online materials, etc. you need for completing your course work. Wilson College tutors are not here to teach you new material, but help you work through confusing material. Be sure you have attempted your work and attended class before coming in for tutoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Benefits of utilizing tutoring services include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>higher academic achievement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>improved attitude toward learning and course work<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>better work and study habits<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>stronger relationships with peers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>increased sense of community<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>improved personal and social development<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>increased motivation, self-esteem, and confidence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have questions or if you are interested in becoming a Wilson College tutor, please&nbsp;email <a href=\"https:\/\/textiles.ncsu.edu\/people\/anjenni3\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alyssa Jennings<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How to Meet with a Tutor<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Identify the course(s) you would like to receive tutoring support for from our list of supported courses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Determine what tutor(s) are available to assist you with the course(s), and view the tutoring schedule to see when they are available.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Visit the Peter R. Lord Tutoring Center (Room 3280) on the day\/time the tutor you would like to work with is scheduled, and sign-in using the tutoring kiosk.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Making the Most of Your Tutoring Appointment<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Have the syllabus for each course you are seeking tutoring for pulled up to review with your tutor at the start of each session. This will enable your tutor to get a better sense of what topics are covered in the course, how they are sequenced, and what graded assignments, if any, they are able to assist with.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bring any notes that you have prepared on the topic(s) you are seeking tutoring for, as well as any relevant course materials provided by your instructor(s). This will enable your tutor to review exactly what you\u2019ve been doing and learning within a particular course, as well as how your instructor explains course content.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Understand that your tutor is there to support your learning, not do your coursework for or with you. Tutors cannot help on graded assignments (homework problems, quizzes, etc.) unless it is specified on the syllabus that outside assistance is allowed. This is to ensure that there are no violations of&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/studentconduct.dasa.ncsu.edu\/academic-integrity-overview\/\" target=\"_blank\">academic integrity<\/a>.
