{"id":6951,"date":"2022-07-14T14:58:19","date_gmt":"2022-07-14T18:58:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/textiles.ncsu.edu\/student-resources\/?page_id=6951"},"modified":"2025-11-04T10:20:41","modified_gmt":"2025-11-04T15:20:41","slug":"registration-errors-and-solutions","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/textiles.ncsu.edu\/student-resources\/registration-errors-and-solutions\/","title":{"rendered":"Registration Errors and Solutions"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n\n\n<p>For errors enrolling in Textiles courses (FTM, FTD, TT, TMS, TTM, PCC, TE) &#8211; fill out the Textiles Course Request Form linked in the Course Request Process below.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"is-text wp-block-ncst-accordion\" >\n    <div class=\"accordion isLinked\" id=\"ncst-accordion-zrp9bk\">\n          \n<details class=\"wp-block-ncst-accordion-item\" name=\"zrp9bk\"  >\n      <summary class=\"accordion-item__header\">\n        <span class=\"accordion-item__expansion-indicator\">\n          <span class=\"ncst-plus-minus-toggle\"><\/span>\n        <\/span>\n        <h2 class=\"accordion-item__label h6\">Textiles Course Request Process<\/h2>\n      <\/summary>\n      <p>\n        \n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/textiles.ncsu.edu\/student-resources\/college-of-textiles-course-request-form\/\">Wilson College of Textiles Course Request Form<\/a>&nbsp;should be used in the following situations:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A current Wilson College of Textiles student wants to request enrollment in a an Textiles course that does not have available seats in the term in which they are planning to graduate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A current Wilson College of Textiles student is enrolled in a course at another institution that is a pre-requisite for a Textiles course that they want to enroll in the next semester.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>An NC State student who is in a non-Textiles major wants to request enrollment in a Textiles course that has reserved seats.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Completing the Course Request Form does not guarantee that your request will be approved. Requests are reviewed in the order in which received and priority is given to graduating seniors. Requests may be denied if the course you want to enroll in is full.<\/p>\n\n\n      <\/p>\n  <\/details>\n\n\n    <\/div>\n  <\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Note: Advisors in Wilson College of Textiles cannot add you to courses taught in other other colleges (example: Economics, Math, Chemistry, etc.). If you\u2019re trying to add a non-Textiles class and you receive this error message, you will need to try to find a different section of the course or a different course all together. Sometimes departments will release reserved seats before classes begin, so it\u2019s possible you can add the course later, but you should go ahead and find an alternate section or course that is available.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Class is full:<\/strong> The section of the course you are trying to add is full; you should look for an alternate section of the course or a different course that is available.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Tip: Check the \u201cWaitlist OK\u201d button when trying to enroll. Even if a class is full, it may be available for a waitlist. Not all classes offer a waitlist option, but if you click this button it will add you to the waitlist if one is available.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Requisite not met:<\/strong> The course you are trying to add has stated prerequisites or corequisites that you have not met. Click on the course in the Enrollment Wizard to view the prerequisites\/corequisites.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Example: CH 101 (lecture) and CH 102 (lab) are corequisites (they must be taken together). You must have open sections of both courses in your Shopping Cart at the same time before you hit \u201cEnroll\u201d or you will get this error message.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You also must have taken and passed the <a href=\"https:\/\/chemistry.sciences.ncsu.edu\/undergraduate\/advising-and-tutoring\/chemistry-placement-exam\/\">Chemistry Placement Exam<\/a> to enroll in CH 101\/102.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Example:<\/em> MA 131 requires a student to place into the course using the <a href=\"https:\/\/math.sciences.ncsu.edu\/mathplacement\/\">Math Placement Exam<\/a> or successful completion of MA 107. If you try to enroll in MA 131 but only placed into MA 107 (or didn\u2019t take the placement exam) you will get this error message.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you have completed the stated prerequisites as Dual Enrollment and\/or AP\/IB, those credits must be in the NC State system before you will be allowed to register for the next level course. If you are still waiting for those credits to arrive, you will likely need to wait to register for the higher level class.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Special Note about ENG 101<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Per&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/english.chass.ncsu.edu\/undergraduate\/fywp\/policies\/\">program policy<\/a>&nbsp;the English department does not over enroll the published course cap for ENG 101 in order to preserve quality of instruction.&nbsp;If your preferred class or section is not available,&nbsp;use the&nbsp;<strong>SWAP TO WAITLIST&nbsp;<\/strong>feature&nbsp;<strong>(<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=i7FHrY0r2i4&amp;t=2s\">YOUTUBE TUTORIAL<\/a>).<\/strong>&nbsp;When you swap for a Waitlisted class, you keep your seat in your enrolled class until a seat becomes available.
