The Global Leadership and Team Decision-Making minor is a 15-hour minor that is designed for students who seek to gain greater knowledge and understanding of leadership and team decision-making from a European global perspective in a cohort format. The coursework is composed of courses grounded in theory, inquiry, and application. The student will participate in a cohort of 12-15 for a semester abroad in the Czech Republic, United Kingdom and Germany. The student will be required to take SLC 250: Critical and Creative Decision-Making either prior to or following the study abroad experience to complete the 15-hr requirement (prior to departure preferred). Nestled in the fabled landscape of Tuscany, where art, architecture, food and history blend easily together in a romantic and sun-drenched city, Florence is a must for the adventurous student. Stroll along the banks of the Arno River, make your way through the shops nestled along the Ponte Vecchio bridge, spend an afternoon in the Boboli Gardens, drop in for a coffee or a snack at your favorite street-side cafe or enjoy multi-course Italian meals, and, of course, absorb the abundance of artistic wealth found throughout the city\u2019s museums, palazzi, and churches as you walk the streets once wandered by Michelangelo, Boccaccio, Galileo, and the Medici. Field trips to Venice, Sorrento, Siena, Lucca, and Pisa are included.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NC State\u2019s oldest summer study abroad program is in Oxford, United Kingdom, and it is also undoubtedly one of its best. The Oxford Study Abroad program encapsulates everything you could expect from a month at one of the most prestigious universities in the world \u2013 courses with amazing Oxford Dons, history around every corner, and a diverse crowd of great minds and unique characters to mingle with daily. The program brings together a diversity of students to live at an Oxford college and to study in a way which exemplifies the Oxford tradition of academic life, through British tutors and lectures from the University of Oxford. Over 760 students have participated in the Oxford program over the last 30 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Oxford lies between the Isis (Thames) and Cherwell Rivers; its name coming from an ancient site where oxen forded the river. A city and industrial center, it is best known as the seat of Oxford University, the oldest in England, celebrated for tradition, academic excellence, and beautiful architecture. Students are encouraged to take advantage of all the plays, places of architectural and historical interest, libraries, and museums.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The local area offers pubs where C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and John Wesley once gathered.
