A credit hour is the number of credits a course is worth; most courses are worth 3 credits without a lab and 4 credits with a lab. Students must take a minimum of 12 hours to be considered full-time (important for a variety of reasons including health insurance, financial aid, scholarships, housing, etc.), but the maximum number of credits any student is allowed to take without special permission is 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">*Make sure that you allow a minimum of 30-45 minutes in between classes that meet on Main Campus and classes that meet on Centennial Campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em>Required classes are in bold.<\/em><\/strong><em>&nbsp; Other classes should be used to reach 15-17 credits.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>T 101<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>TT 105<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>FTM 491 (section 003 or 007) First Year Studio <\/strong>(will replace FTD 104 in your Degree Audit)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>D 100<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A HESF 100-level course (highly encouraged in first semester)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MA 131 depending on placement (MA 231 if you have credit for MA 131)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you placed into MA 107, it is highly recommended you take that your first semester.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>ENG 101<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>GEP course (see below for more information)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">General Education Program (GEP) Course Options<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/spreadsheets\/d\/1X0QGMz-zW_otjfL8Tqot23kHrRlvvAyBAklAT0Or10g\/edit#gid=131476337\">Click here<\/a> to see more information about the GEP categories, requirements for your major and recommended GEP courses.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>First-year Course Requirements Most first-semester first-year students in our college will take 15 to 17 credit hours (or 5-6 classes).
