Planning to Study Abroad?

Enroll in both FTM 315 and FTM 317 in the same semester.  These are the ONLY two courses that can be taken at the same time in this curriculum.  The student should make sure to register at the EARLIEST opportunity that they possibility can, to enable them to get into FTM 317.  No special exceptions will be made since class space is limited to 30.

Interested in the Senior Collection Studio?

FTM 497 is the advanced fashion product design studio course where students create a “collection” of garment designs.  The emphasis in this course is on ideation, creativity, communication, theme development, fit, quality, and exhibition of the designer’s work.  In the most recent degree program (Req Term: Sum2’09), this course counts as 6 hours in the FD & PM Electives.  Please keep this in mind when making study abroad plans.

In the most recent semester, interested students have been  Juried into the course due to the large number of students wanting to take the course. Interested students should be prepared to show examples of their work during their time at NC State and conduct the initial research assignment for the jury process.

Work from the Senior Studio will be juried into the Emerging Designers Showcase and is available for many other events and competitions.
