Graduates can apply this knowledge to develop or improve chemical processes for industries related to polymer and fiber fabrication. The Chemical Processing concentration focuses on solving problems related to processing of polymers, fibers, coating applications, and structures (yarns and fabrics).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Career Options<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Process Engineer<\/li><li>Quality Engineer<\/li><li>Production Manager<\/li><li>Quality Manager<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Details<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This concentration combines textile engineering with several core competencies in chemical engineering. Therefore, students will learn the fundamentals of polymer science, fiber science, and the formation of fabrics and other 2-D structures while incorporating fundamental chemical engineering principles such as transport phenomena, chemical process principles, and chemical engineering analysis. Students also learn quality process improvement methodology called Six Sigma as part of their curriculum.
