{"id":22348,"date":"2022-07-27T15:53:23","date_gmt":"2022-07-27T19:53:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/textiles.ncsu.edu\/?page_id=22348"},"modified":"2022-07-27T15:53:26","modified_gmt":"2022-07-27T19:53:26","slug":"color-science-lab","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/textiles.ncsu.edu\/industry\/labs-and-facilities\/color-science-lab\/","title":{"rendered":"Datacolor Color Science Laboratory and the Optics and Imaging Laboratory"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-ncst-buttons\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-ncst-button\"><a href=\"https:\/\/sites.textiles.ncsu.edu\/color-science-lab\/\" class=\"btn ncst-component__button-link\" data-ncst-lightbox=\"false\" data-ua-cat=\"Button Block\" data-ua-action=\"Button Click\" data-ua-label=\"https:\/\/sites.textiles.ncsu.edu\/color-science-lab\/\"><span class=\"ncst-component__button-container\"><span>Color Science Lab <\/span><span class=\"nowrap\"><span>Website&nbsp;<\/span><span class=\"arrow-indicator\"> <svg class=\"wolficon\" role=\"img\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><use xlink:href=\"#wolficon-arrow-right-bold\" \/><\/svg> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The Datacolor Color Science Laboratory and the Optics and Imaging Laboratory have state of the art capabilities for practically all aspects of color and lighting measurement and visual assessment of colored material that conform to AATCC, ISO and ASTM standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The laboratories are routinely used for education, research and external service work as well as training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Unique Capabilities<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Radiometric measurements (irradiance and contact or non-contact radiance over 200-1100 nm) of light sources, standard light boxes and reflective surfaces.<\/li><li>Reflectance and Transmittance measurements of solid objects and solutions.<\/li><li>Digital color capture and display under controlled conditions.<\/li><li>Determination of observers color aptitude and color normalcy using a variety of standard test methods (e.g. Ishihara, HVS, Nietz, FM100)<\/li><li>Automated dye solution, dispensing and laboratory scale dyeing apparatus.<\/li><li>Apparatus for coating surfaces with controlled thicknesses<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Equipment<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Telespectroradiometer, with capability of detection from 200-1100 nm equipped with fiber optics telescope that allows noncontact measurements to be conducted.
