Santiago has been awarded the North Carolina Textile Foundation Joseph W. Lineberger Centennial Scholarship to study in a textile degree program at NC&#160;State. Santiago completed several Advanced Placement courses including English, Statistics, Calculus, Biology and Chemistry. He received the Outstanding Achievement award for demonstrating academic excellence in various courses. Santiago served as Vice President of the Student Government Association and helped with numerous school related events. He volunteered at the local Dunn Community Cleanup organization to provide for a clean community. Santiago participated in Men\u2019s Cross Country, Indoor Track, and Outdoor Track &amp; Field. He was a member of the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards conference that focused on building the leadership of young individuals.
