Matt has been awarded the North Carolina Textile Foundation John Copeland Centennial Scholarship to study in a textile degree program at NC&#160;State. Matt completed several Advanced Placement courses including Biology, Comparative Government, English, Statistics and Psychology. He was president of his High School\u2019s Key Club Spirit Chair on the Student Council\u2019s Executive Board, and a two-year captain of the varsity tennis team. Other extracurricular activities included National honor Society, Youth Commission International, and the German Honor Society. Matt was also an active member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church Youth Group, where he participated in a two-week mission trip to Honduras.
