He volunteers at his community church where he also plays drums in the praise band and also plays guitar. He has traveled to India with his church group on a mission trip to help the less fortunate. He has earned his EMT certification and has interned at Wake Med Hospital, and continues to work with the EMS as a volunteer EMT.
