Ian Jagger McLamb<\/strong> – from Hayesville, NC graduated from Hayesville High School. Ian has been awarded one of only ten North Carolina Textile Foundation Centennial Scholarships to study in a textile degree program at NC State. The Centennial scholarship is the largest college-based scholarship offered at NC State University and is valued at nearly $48,000. Ian McLamb As a part of this scholarship, Ian will have access to $7,500 in enrichment funds for educational and cultural activities beyond the classroom, such as study abroad, career exploration trips and attending leadership conferences. Ian was on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll for four years. He also has been a member of the National Beta Club and has taken on the role of President his senior year. Ian was also a member of the National Honor Society, president of Spanish Club, treasurer of Mu Alpha Theta, and vice-president of student government his freshmen year. Ian is very involved with sports, playing on the Varsity Basketball, Baseball, and Soccer teams. He was elected captain of the Basketball team his senior year. Ian also started his own Mowing service business, which taught him a range of skills. On his spare time, he loves to sing and play guitar. Ian also volunteered in the Western Carolina Pacesetters program helping in the rehabilitation process of adjudicated youths in western NC. Ian attended Polymer and Color Chemistry Camp at the Wilson College of Textiles.
