Amanda has been awarded a North Carolina Textile Foundation Centennial Scholarship to study Textiles at NC&#160;State. Amanda served as president of the Student Government, captain of the Volleyball team, president of FCCLA, and was selected as the 2003-2004 Homecoming Queen of her school. She was actively involved in serving at soup kitchens, visiting nursing homes, and sending packages to the troops overseas.
