So, too, were <\/span><span>533 gifts <\/span><span>\u2013 <\/span><span>an increase of 45% from 2020 <\/span><span>\u2013 <\/span><span>from generous donors who gave<\/span> <b>$<\/b><b>1,201,160 <\/b><span>to support the Wilson College of Textiles. Overall, the University raised $58,103,657, reflecting the indomitable Pack spirit of philanthropy.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span>\u201cToday, the Wilson College of Textiles is even stronger as a result of the selfless giving demonstrated by our remarkable students, staff, faculty, alumni, parents, donors and friends,\u201d said David Hinks, dean of the college. \u201cI am so grateful for their confidence and investment in our people and programs as we drive momentum in a resurgent textiles industry.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span>Among Day of Giving achievements that will directly support the Wilson College <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/textiles.ncsu.edu\/about\/mission-and-vision\/\"><span>mission<\/span><\/a><span>:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span>Meeting two challenges to unlock gifts totaling $350,000 from the Blue Bell Foundation to fund the new <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.etextilecommunications.com\/031821-nc-state-day-of-giving\"><span>Blue Bell Pioneer Scholarship Endowment<\/span><\/a><span> as part of the Wilson College commitment to serve students of need \u2013 and first-generation college attendees \u2013 from rural areas of North Carolina<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span>Garnering strong support for the Centennial Scholarship Program, including a $50,000 challenge gift unlocked by our Centennial Scholar alumni, students and parents and a newly-created Centennial Endowment<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span>Securing $62,055 for the Dean&#8217;s Textiles Innovation Fund<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span>Raising $12,453 to support the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/textiles.ncsu.edu\/tecs\/\"><span>Textile Engineering, Chemistry and Science<\/span><\/a><span> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/textiles.ncsu.edu\/tatm\/\"><span>Textile Apparel, Technology and Management<\/span><\/a><span> Enhancement Funds<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span>Adding $5,218 to the Diversity and Inclusion Fund<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span>Achieving 100% giving participation among members of the <a href=\"https:\/\/textiles.ncsu.edu\/giving\/nc-textile-foundation\/board-of-directors\/\">NC Textile Foundation Board of Directors<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/textiles.ncsu.edu\/deans-young-alumni-leadership-council\/\">Dean&#8217;s Young Alumni Leadership Council<\/a>.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><span>Showing its fun side, the Wilson College community also enjoyed friendly competition with other NC&#160;State units, winning <\/span><span>the Pack Pets and the Don&#8217;t Give Up video challenges to add to its fund totals.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span>&#8220;Our team&#8217;s theme this year is <\/span><i><span>celebrate<\/span><\/i><span>,\u201d said <\/span><span>Michael Ward, executive director of the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/textiles.ncsu.edu\/giving\/nc-textile-foundation\/\"><span>North Carolina Textile Foundation<\/span><\/a><span>. \u201cAnd with this being our last Day of Giving during the transformative Think and Do the Extraordinary Campaign, I couldn\u2019t be more proud <\/span><span>\u2013 <\/span><span>and grateful <\/span><span>\u2013 <\/span><span>for the generosity shown by our donors.
