Wilson College of Textiles Assistant Professor Kate Nartker<\/a> is joining an elite class of world-renowned researchers. She has been selected to participate in the U.S. government\u2019s flagship educational and cultural exchange program as a 2022-23 Fulbright Scholar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nartker, who teaches textile design at the Wilson College, will travel to Gothenburg, Sweden, in the Spring of 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy proposal was based on the idea of integrating traditional crafts with new technologies,\u201d she says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While there, she’ll teach a series of workshops on jacquard weaving and research traditional Swedish weaving techniques at the HDK-Valand Academy of Art and Design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
