I am a 2015 NC State graduate and worked in the athletics department. Then I worked in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences as a development assistant and now at Wilson College of Textiles.

Initially, I started out working in sports when I graduated. NC State has a sports management program in the College of Natural Resources, which is where I got my degree. I am really proud of that and the work I did in sports there.

However, I also wanted to make a change for myself, and advancement seemed like a good option where I could use what I learned from working in sports and apply it to the fundraising arm of the university. One thing that I am realizing is how many people I know in different areas of my life, whether that be people from my sorority, people from classes or different parts of my life that graduated from Wilson. There are so many different components to the college as well that I am very excited to learn more about.

I have worked at NC State my entire career and have held two previous roles at other colleges in other areas. I am really proud to work for NC State and showcase all the exciting parts of the university to people. I have already learned so much about textiles in my time here, and educating people on what I have learned has been fun.

I was interested because it was a chance to grow my career, learn from a great team and connect with our young alumni and the North Carolina Textile Foundation staff! All of their colleagues across the university speak of them so highly. I was so excited to join the team knowing that they are very well respected across the university and are good at what they do.

I’ve only been in my position for a couple weeks, so don’t have a full routine yet, but I will help with the Dean’s Young Alumni Leadership Council, the mentorship program, events for NCTF and more.

I work on all the events that we have planned for this fall. We want to connect with Wilson College seniors this year before they graduate, and I’m so excited to see what we can do here at NCTF to support them.

Taking spin classes, reading books, visiting family and friends and trying new restaurants.
