I have a bachelor’s in management information systems and a master’s in IT and Management. After that, I worked for six years doing IT work in higher education.

At first, I was interested in moving to the area from Florida and wanted to continue my IT career in higher education. After doing some research about the Wilson College of Textiles, the position particularly intrigued me because of how unique the Wilson College is. It excited me to think that the work I would be doing would directly impact the textiles industry around the world.

I would say the positions I held in the IT department at Florida Atlantic University’s College of Medicine had the biggest impact on my career. I worked there as a part-time IT student worker almost my entire time as an undergraduate student and then as a full-time technician while I pursued my graduate degree. The six years I spent working there helped me build the skills and confidence needed to be successful in my current position.

I manage the Windows computing environment at the college, manage the student work support team, provide tier-3 help desk support and implement IT solutions to enhance business operations and student success.

What excites me the most is that TCTS is always trying to build bigger and better systems to better serve our community. Because of this, I am constantly learning, which I love.

Working with an incredible team of individuals and the fulfillment of knowing I’m contributing to the advancement of the textiles industry.

My favorite project would probably be the one where I worked to enhance remote access to our student labs during the COVID-19 shutdowns. We were able to implement a system that provided an online dashboard for students where they could not only view the availability of computing resources at the college, but also easily connect to them from wherever they were, whenever they needed.

Traveling as much as I can, playing video games, listening to audio books and going on Jeep-based adventures.
