I spent 13 years of my career as a consulting sales engineer supporting the design and application of mechanical systems for buildings. I also had the opportunity to work for the State Department in Vienna, Austria shortly before joining NC&#160;State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why were you interested in this position \/ in working at the Wilson College?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Although I was successful in my previous positions, living through the pandemic made me realize it was time to make a change and focus on what I was most interested in, and that was working in facilities for higher education. In the past I often had a hand in upgrades or equipment renovations on university campuses, but I never got to stick around and see how the projects played out over time for the end users. Now I get to do that and I am so grateful to be here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What are your duties on a day-to-day basis?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>I act as a steward for the Wilson College Facilities and do my best to promote safe and inspiring environments for all faculty and staff. Our team manages renovations and maintenance to our spaces, as well as assisting in the logistics of events, shipping and space management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is your favorite part of your job and\/or working at the Wilson College of Textiles?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Learning about research projects students and faculty are working on. I&#8217;ve learned textiles can improve healthcare, the economy, entrepreneurship, socioeconomic disparities and environmental sustainability just to name a few. It is humbling to support this work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What do you like to do outside of work?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>I enjoy going on adventures with my family, which usually involves traveling and or bike rides (if you\u2019ve ever been on a bike ride with a 4-6 year old, you know that\u2019s an \u201cadventure\u201d by itself).
