I am an alumni of the Wilson College, graduating in 2022! Following that, there was an open position for a recruiting assistant on a temporary basis. The Academic, Career and Student Services<\/a> office was looking to expand their recruiting department and after applying and interviewing, I was hired as a full-time permanent employee! <\/p>\n\n\n\n I have a very deep passion for both the college as well as the textile industry! During my first year of high school, my fashion merchandising teacher brought our class to visit the college. I met with students and staff from the recruiting team and since that day, I knew that I wanted to be a part of the Wilson community (though at that point the college had yet to be renamed). I then attended the Summer Textile Exploration Program<\/a> in 2016, which furthered my interest in the college. That fall, I was accepted into the brand management and marketing<\/a> program and enrolled in 2017! <\/p>\n\n\n\n All of this to say, it is one of my proudest accomplishments to be able to play a role in giving students the same experiences that I had. Talking to young students about all of the incredible things we have to offer them as an institution, and seeing their eyes light up, is what makes the job such a rewarding one! My love for Wilson, and the community of people behind it, has been the main driving factor in my role thus far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n My focus is on recruitment for our undergraduate degree programs. I work on co-leading the student ambassadors and hosting on-campus events for prospective and admitted students. One of my main focuses is with recruitment of underserved and underrepresented populations in North Carolina. There is often travel involved but the main priority is to make as many meaningful connections as possible between prospective students and the college.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Being able to play a small role in building a better future for the textile industry is definitely my favorite part. Working with students to find out their interests and connect them with one of our majors is truly a rewarding experience.
