Morgan was&nbsp;awarded a North Carolina Textile Foundation G. Allen Mebane <a href=\"https:\/\/textiles.ncsu.edu\/admissions\/scholarships\/\">Centennial Scholarship<\/a>.&nbsp;Morgan is&nbsp;studying <a href=\"https:\/\/textiles.ncsu.edu\/tecs\/undergraduate\/textile-engineering\/\">Textile Engineering<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I feel incredibly blessed to be a Centennial scholar. It is a prestigious honor that has and will continue to provide me opportunities that will enhance my education here at NC&#160;State. This scholarship has motivated me to work even harder and strive even higher in school, as well as given me a group of peers with similar interests and goals to be a part of.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Morgan took Advanced Placement courses in World History; European History; U.S. Government and Politics; U.S. History; Calculus AB; Calculus BC; English Language and Composition; Environmental Science; and Psychology. She participated in multiple clubs during her high school career including National Honor Society, Beta Club, and Karma Club. In addition to the clubs she was involved with at her school, Morgan was&nbsp;a peer tutor and a counselor at Camp Carefree, a camp for children with chronic illnesses. Her hobbies include drawing, painting, listening to music and reading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like many Centennials, Morgan discovered the Wilson College of Textiles through&nbsp;the <a href=\"https:\/\/textiles.ncsu.edu\/future-students\/future-undergraduate\/step\/\">Summer Textile Exploration Program<\/a> (STEP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I applied and was accepted to the camp in 2015, and it completely changed my perspective on my future career. I fell in love with the idea of engineering textiles, and my eyes were opened to all of the different possibilities that I had never even heard of.
