Wilson College of Textiles (COT) students at NC State University are creating a fashion magazine called PackFashion. Leader of the project, Jasmine Mason, is a Fashion and Textiles Management (FTM) major in the COT. Mason and her peers are composing the printed content in hopes that it will appeal to various readers.

PackFashion will feature style tips, local businesses, high fashion, the textile industry, students on campus, and designers at the COT. The magazine will be diverse and extremely informative for those in search of fashion tips and current textile information.

“This magazine is meant for everyone,” said Mason, who hopes the text will have a large and broad audience that stretches beyond the COT.

There are currently seven board members helping with creativity, marketing, editing, styling, modeling and photography. The expected launch date for PackFashion is sometime between February and March of 2017.

“I’ve always wanted to do something in college that would leave a lasting impression even when I’m gone. I saw that there was a need for a fashion magazine, and I went for it,” said Mason.

The magazine will be in printed form and ready to pick up at the Student Involvement Center in Talley Student Union, at the COT in the Student and Career Services Office, and possibly in the student lounge and Port City Java at COT.

“I hope the magazine will be able to unite the students within the Wilson College of Textiles and even NC State as a whole. I want great conversations to be started, new learning experiences to be available, and a small way to disconnect from the chaos of our responsibilities as college students,” said Mason.

For more information on PackFashion, please contact Jasmine Mason at jsmason@ncsu.edu.

By Julie Watterson

Wilson College of Textiles (COT) students at NC State University are creating a fashion magazine called PackFashion.
