Dr. Traci Lamar<\/span><\/a> received the 2017 Certificate of Reflective Teaching on April 3. Lamar is a professor in the department of <\/span>Textile and Apparel, Technology and Management<\/span><\/a> at NC State\u2019s <\/span>Wilson College of Textiles<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n The Certificate of Reflective Teaching provides instructors the opportunity to learn pedagogical skills and information about teaching not necessarily gained during formal training in graduate school. Instructors gain recognition for their efforts to become more intentional, reflective teachers who incorporate best practices in teaching. Faculty members also benefit from the opportunity to foster relationships with other faculty members outside of their home departments who are dedicated to improving their teaching.<\/span> Lamar joined the faculty of NC State as an assistant professor in Textile and Apparel, Technology and Management in June 2000. This appointment followed 12 years of university experience at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro and Southern Illinois University.
