Matthew Avery

Matthew Avery – from Winterville, NC is the top ranked student in the Ayden-Grifton graduating class of 2006. Matthew currently serves as the President of the Student Government Association and the National Honor Society. He is a team instructor for Teens Against Tobacco Use, a member of his high school’s Quiz Bowl Team, and plays for the varsity golf team. Matthew is an active volunteer with the Key Club, Salvation Army, and Winterville Watermelon Festival. He also spends time with a local nursing home to assist with monthly birthday parties. Matthew has attended Governor’s School, received Key Club Outstanding Service Award, and was voted the Most Improved Player by his golf team mates. Matthew intends to study Textile Engineering.
