Phillip Strader

Phillip Strader – from Mt. Holly, NC graduated from East Gaston High School. Phillip was selected to represent East Gaston at the Gaston County Commissioner’s School of Excellence (CSE), where he received the “Best All Around Male” Award. Other awards include, “Highest Average” award in Biomedical Technology, “Model Student” Phillip Strader award in Algebra II honors, and being selected as East Gaston’s representative to the HOBY Leadership Seminar. Phillip served as Vice President for the Health Occupation Students of America, was Assistant Secretary General of the Model UN, was a member of Government and Students Club, Beta club, National Honor Society, and Interact club. Phillip is also involved in Boy Scouts, where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He is also Chapter Chief of Order of the Arrow (Scouting’s Honor Society). Phillip’s most meaningful community service is “Blessings from Matthew”, which his family runs. He was a four year member of the drum line, serving as Drum Line Captain. Phillip’s favorite hobby is playing guitar in his band and as a solo artist, but he is also an avid runner, hiker and outdoorsman. Phillip intends to study Polymer and Color Chemistry.
