Shannyn Holder – from Belmont, NC graduated from South Point High School as co-salutatorian of the class of 2010. Because of Shannyn’s hard work she earned the College Board AP Scholar award for scoring a 3 or above on 3 or more AP Exams, was a Junior Marshall, and won the Top Scholar Award for students with the 3 highest GPA’s in their class. Shannyn was involved with Bible Club, National Honors Society, Beta Club, Earth-Environment Club, Interact Club, Model UN, and member of the Sue Myrick Youth Advisory Council. She also participated in her high schools cross country, volleyball, basketball, swimming, track, and soccer teams, earning all-conference or scholastic athlete for each sport, as well as the Wendy’s High School Heisman and Boys and Girls Club Female Athlete of the Year awards. Shannyn also had the opportunity to attend the Governor’s School West in Art Concentration. Shannyn intends to study Textile Engineering with a double in Biomedical Engineering.
