Natalie Buitrago

Natalie Buitrago – from Garner, NC graduated from Garner Magnet High School. Natalie has been awarded the North Carolina Textile Foundation Gunter/Blank Centennial Scholarship to study in a textile degree program at NC State. Natalie has taken Paideia Honors English and Social Sciences, Honors Math Language and Science classes. She was in the IB program with extremely rigorous coursework. Natalie was in the top 2% of her class of approximately 500 students, achieving Honor Roll for her entire high school career. She was selected to attend the NC Renaissance program at UNC-CH and STEP at NC State. She developed a swim training program for children of varying levels of ability and gave free individualized instruction. Natalie is also a member of the Titan Leadership Council that participates in community service projects. She received the Trojan Award for Garner High Swim. Natalie also attended the Summer Textile Exploration Program (STEP) through the Wilson College of Textiles during the summer between her junior and senior years in high school. Natalie intends to study Polymer and Color Chemistry.
