Kyrsten Rudock

Kyrsten Rudock – from Monroe, NC graduated Valedictorian from Sun Valley High School. Kyrsten has been awarded the North Carolina Textile Foundation Faculty & Staff Centennial Scholarship to study in a textile degree program at NC State. Kyrsten took Advanced Placement courses in Physics, English Language and Literature, Calculus, and Government, while being dual enrolled with her local community college. She says her calculus class inspired her to pursue the field of engineering due to her love of sciences and problem solving. She has received an academic excellence award and A-honor roll every semester due to her hard work in these classes. Kyrsten was the Clarinet Captain in her school’s marching band and has a passion for music. She was also involved in the EuroChallenge club, Global Trivia club, was the president of the NC Jets club, a member of the National Honor Society, where she participated in tutoring and volunteer projects in the community. Outside of school, Kyrsten loves to run and participate in theatre activities. Kyrsten intends to study Textile Engineering and double major in Biomedical Engineering.
