Michelle Kerstein

Michelle Kerstein – from Matthews, NC, graduated from East Mecklenburg High School. She has been awarded a North Carolina Textile Foundation American & Efird Centennial Scholarship. Michelle completed International Baccalaureate courses, including Chemistry, Environmental Systems and Societies, Literature, Spanish, Philosophy, and Mathematics. She also took honors courses including Principles of Engineering, Civil Engineering and Architecture, and Digital Electronics. Michelle specifically enjoyed her Chemistry and Engineering classes because of the hands-on learning experience that was provided. She participated in a variety of student clubs including sophomore, junior, and senior board as well as the YMCA Leaders Club, where she volunteered 200 hours a year in her local community. Michelle has been an athlete for many years in soccer as well as varsity volleyball. Michelle intends to study Textile Engineering.
