Dr. Lisa Chapman, associate professor at NC State's College of Textiles has been named a University Faculty Scholar. Chapman, whose teaching and research cut across design and technology, possesses a unique ability to bridge art and science in teaching, research and industry engagement.

Dr. Xiangwu Zhang Named Associate Dean for Research

Dr. Xiangwu Zhang was named associate dean for research in the College of Textiles at NC State. Zhang is an internationally recognized leader in nanostructured and multifunctional polymer, fiber, textile and composite materials with an emphasis on energy storage applications.

Throughout the school year, the College of Textiles Fashion Group is holding a clothing donation service project. The student group is asking that students and faculty at Textiles and across campus go through their closets and donate their unwanted clothing items.

Mike Hale ‘72, Named Distinguished Alumni Award Winner

Mike Hale [TE, 1972] received the 2016 Distinguished Alumni Award for the College of Textiles on Oct. 27. Mike, a leader in the nonwovens industry. serves on the board of directors of the North Carolina Textile Foundation (NCTF) and supports students through an endowment he established with his wife Jean.
