Two Ph.D. Students Receive VF Assistantships

When NC State and VF Corporation announced a collaborative, strategic partnership in January 2018, one of the goals was to support student development at NC State. To that end, two College of Textiles Ph.D. students have been named recipients of the VF Graduate Assistantship in Apparel and Footwear. This award supports outstanding graduate students conducting research on emerging and advanced topics in apparel and footwear of interest to VF, home to such brands as Reef, Wrangler and The North Face.

NC State Named Company of the Year by Supply Chain Management Association

NC State has been chosen as the 2018 Company of the Year from the Triangle chapter of the American Production and Inventory Control Society, a supply chain management association.

Meet Jeff Sackaroff, New Director of Student and Career Services

Jeff Sackaroff is excited to get to work. The NC State alumnus recently joined the College of Textiles as its new director of Student and Career Services, effective March 1, and he has already made plans to streamline the system and make more tools available to students.

VF Corporation and NC State Announce Strategic, Multiyear Partnership

VF Corporation and North Carolina State University today announced a collaborative, strategic partnership that will support student development at NC State and advance apparel and textiles innovation within VF. The College of Textiles and VF have a long-standing relationship. Under this new multi-year agreement, the partnership is further strengthened by NC State’s Poole College of Management, which brings particular expertise in business analytics and supply chain management.

Ellen Rohde Leadership Endowment Prepares Students for Success

Following a 22-year career with apparel giant VF Corporation, Ellen Rohde — now president of the North Carolina Textile Foundation — has dedicated her post-retirement life to equipping students at NC State with workforce skills that will make them successful leaders and major contributors to society. With a $1.2 million gift, she established an endowment that aims to provide students at the College of Textiles with the type of impactful leadership training that helped her become the first female division president in VF’s history.

Textile Students Visit STOLL Flat Knitting Machines Producer

As part of their study abroad experience during the summer of 2016, six students from NC State's College of Textiles visited the headquarters of STOLL Machine Works in Reutlingen, Germany, a traditional center for textiles and textile machinery. STOLL, a manufacturer of flat-knitting machines, has been in business for over 140 years.
