Meet Us at Techtextil North America

The Wilson College of Textiles will be the center of the textile world this February 26-28, when it hosts Techtextil North America 2019 as its first official academic partner. Techtextil North America is an annual trade event dedicated to the technical textiles and nonwovens industry. For three days this month, manufacturers, suppliers, service providers and industry professionals from all over the world will gather in the City of Oaks to network, learn and share the latest advancements in textile technology.

It is evidenced in her pursuit of academic excellence, in two internship experiences, in her role as president of the Textile Engineering Society, and, quite literally, in her undergraduate research in the area of protective and performance textiles.

Wilson College Team Designs More Fitted Hood for Defense Department Challenge

An interdisciplinary team from the College of Textiles met a challenge from the Department of Defense head on: redesign protective chemical-biological suits worn by military troops. Their design for a more fitted hood led to recognition and a $15,000 prize.
