Nicole Lizann Santos

Nicole Lizann Santos – Nicole Lizann Santos – from Wake Forest, NC graduated from Wake Forest-Rolesville High School. Nicole has been awarded one of only ten North Carolina Textile Foundation Centennial Scholarships to study in a textile degree program at NC State. The Centennial scholarship is the largest college-based scholarship offered at NC State University and is valued at nearly $48,000. As a part of this scholarship, Nicole will have access to $7,500 in enrichment funds for educational and cultural activities beyond the classroom, such as study abroad, career exploration trips and attending leadership conferences. Because of Nicole’s outstanding work, she was selected to be a Junior Marshall. She has also received the Gibbs award and was selected as one of twenty Outstand Seniors and graduated in the top 10 of her class. Actively involved in Student Government, Nicole has held positions of Class Representative, Attorney General, and Student Body Vice President. She also was Junior Co-Chair and Secretary of the National Honor Society. Nicole is very involved with volunteer work, for she has volunteered over 300 hours at the YMCA and other organizations. Nicole also possesses a passion for music, having played piano since age nine and participating in band since the sixth grade. During the summer of 2007, Nicole participated in the Summer Textile Exploration Program through the Wilson College of Textiles. Nicole intends to study Textile Engineering.
