Brianna McKiernan – from Fayetteville, NC graduated from Fayetteville Academy. Brianna has been awarded the North Carolina Textile Foundation Unifi Centennial Scholarship to study in a textile degree program at NC State. Brianna completed six AP courses and four college courses to help prepare her for college. She finished in the top 5% of her graduating class, achieving Honor Roll for her entire high school career. She won Honorable Mention for her 2012 Hastings Summer Reading Reader Essay, runner-up in the Comanche County Conservation District 2 Speech Contest, a finalist in the Poetry Out Loud competition, first place winner of the PTA Reflections Essay Contest, and the champion of the Lions Club International Oklahoma State Youth Speech Contest. Brianna was involved in the Spanish Club, National Honor Society, Model United Nations, Environmental Club, and a writing intern. She volunteered for the Red Cross, visited orphanages in South Korea, helped in Hands on Atlanta, and was an active member/volunteer for the Key Club. She was on varsity cross country for two years, varsity track and field all four years, varsity cheerleading for two years, and did taekwondo for six years. Brianna intends to study Polymer and Color Chemistry.
