Shahida Afrin, a first-year doctoral student in the NC State Wilson College of Textiles, collaborated with two fellow doctoral teammates from Canada to win three awards in the eighth annual Fashion Tech Hackathon at Kent State University in January.

Pamela McCauley, Ph.D. brings a long and distinguished list of honors and recognitions unique within academic circles. She now has one more distinction to add after being elected in February to the 2021 Class of Fellows for the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering. She enjoys every aspect of her job as associate dean for Academic Programs, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, but particularly relishes the opportunity to help all students live up to their full potential.
