Paul Burke ‘17 Engineers His Own Path

Originally from Raleigh, Paul Burke '17 now lives in Portland, Oregon, where he works as pre-sales systems engineer for IT, networking and cybersecurity company Cisco Systems. We spoke with Burke about his life and career after graduation, why he chose to attend Wilson College, what his job search was like and more. Read on for our discussion.

Learning to Lead

Over the past year, almost two dozen women at the Wilson College of Textiles have benefited from professional development grants through the Ellen Rohde Leadership Initiative. Female students, faculty and staff have been able to network and learn through travel to conferences, workshops and research opportunities worldwide as a result of these grants, honing their leadership skills and widening their career paths.

Mike, a leader in the nonwovens industry. serves on the board of directors of the North Carolina Textile Foundation (NCTF) and supports students through an endowment he established with his wife Jean.
