The Dyeing and Finishing Pilot Plant includes both sample and production size machinery. The laboratory is equipped with over 40 different machines efficient in working with everything from fibers, yarns and fabric to whole garment preparation. Various types of dyeing techniques are available for both large and small quantities of product. Similarly the laboratory is supplied with a myriad of machines which aid in providing high quality chemical finishing services.

Alea Relaxation Dryer- Tensionless shrinking for knitted fabrics

Brownville Fire Fly Infared Heat Oven – Generates heat directly into the material

Marshall and Williams Tenter Frame – Used for drying, heat setting, or curing materials; 7m long with variable width from 1m to 2m

Mathis LTF/LTSV – 500mm width coating oven; knife-over-roll and knife-over-blanket coating capabilities

Mathis THN – Forced warm air oven; runs sample swatches or continuous samples

Mathis THS 500 Tenter Frame / Coater – 600 mm wide

Warner Mathis AG DHE Steamer with Electric Heat- 500mm width

Atlas Laundrometer – USed for AATCC accelerated wash test methods; runs max. of 20 samples simultaneously

X-Rite Spectrophotometer – Color formulation and color analysis capabilities

Yamamoto 55lb Commercial Washer – Industrial strength washer

Ahiba Texomat Bench Dye Machine – Atmospheric beaker dryer; capacity of 12 400ml beakers

Burlington Hosiery Machine – Garment dyeing vessel, volume 9 kilos

Gaston County Package Dyeing Machine – 8 kilos or 12 kilos

Mathis BF8 – IR beaker dyer; 300ml beakers

Mathis JFO (Basket Assembly Pressure Dyeing Vessel) – Used for garments; variable liquor ratio and 1000g fabric sample maximum

Mathis JFO (Yarn Package Dying Attachment) – Pressure dyeing vessel; variable liquor ratio and 1000g yarn sample maximum

Onomori Full Width Jig – Full production machine; 2m wide with the capability to run 100 kilos of material

Roaches Rope Range – Indigo dyeing; uses four one-liter baths for reduction and oxidation

Rodney Hunt Winch Beck – Atmospheric dye vessel; 45 kilo capacity

Then Skein Dyer – Atmospheric yarn skein dyer; 15 kilos of yarn capacity

Thies Mini – Soft 25 kilo pressure vessel

Greenville Machinery Padder – 2-meter-wide chemical pad

Greenville Pilot Scale Range- 500mm scour and wash range; can be used for pad-dye-dry applications; typically used for woven fabrics or nonwoven substrates, not suitable for knits

Mathis HVF Pad – 500mm width with KISS roll assembly

The Carpet Conundrum
