Fall 2015 Semester Ends with Shows, Exhibits and Lots of Winners

It was a busy December at the Wilson College of Textiles at NC State. We’d like to share with you the winners from early December shows and exhibits.

NC State of Denim Fashion Show and Design Exhibition
Friday, Dec. 4, 2015
This juried show was comprised of student level (high school, novice and advanced undergraduate, and graduate) designers. Categories included Avant-garde, Southern Style and Re-fashioned. The event included both a live fashion show and a mounted exhibition in order to accommodate more creative uses for denim.

Threads Senior Collection 2015

Each Fall and Spring semester, top fashion and textile design students at NC State University Wilson College of Textiles showcase their designs that have been developed in senior studio. These senior designers created, developed, and produced an industry quality collection, emphasizing ideation, communication, theme development, fit and fabrication. Threads is a showcase of talent, creativity, and skill; it is a culmination of techniques learned over the years through various courses.

Cotton = High Tech + High Design Competition and Exhibition
Opened Saturday, Dec 5, 2015 at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences
The competition featured apparel, home furnishings, and textiles designed by students at the Wilson College of Textiles. These pieces, created by the College’s Department of Textile Apparel, Technology and Management (TATM) students and juried into the event, highlight cotton’s properties and performance aspects and incorporate weaving, knitting, printing and dyeing techniques.
