Textile Design Student Wins 2017 Bookmark Competition

The winner of the 2017 COT bookmark competition is Jamie Harvey, a senior studying Fashion and Textile Design with a focus on Textile Design. Her design honors the 50th anniversary of Carter-Finley Stadium.

Student Designs Inspired by “Rolling Sculptures” Exhibit at NCMA

College of Textiles students participating in the recent North Carolina Museum of Art College Night drew design inspiration from the exhibit “Rolling Sculptures: Art Deco Cars from the 1930s and '40s”.

Dr. Lisa Chapman Named a 2016-17 University Faculty Scholar

Dr. Lisa Chapman, associate professor at NC State's College of Textiles has been named a University Faculty Scholar. Chapman, whose teaching and research cut across design and technology, possesses a unique ability to bridge art and science in teaching, research and industry engagement.

Dr. Xiangwu Zhang Named Associate Dean for Research

Dr. Xiangwu Zhang was named associate dean for research in the College of Textiles at NC State. Zhang is an internationally recognized leader in nanostructured and multifunctional polymer, fiber, textile and composite materials with an emphasis on energy storage applications.
