As we mark the 25th anniversary of the Wilson College of Textiles on Centennial Campus, we want to commemorate this milestone in a way only textiles can: through the creation of an anniversary bookmark. All Wilson College of Textiles students, faculty and staff are invited to submit a design for consideration.
Since the first was produced in 1960, our woven bookmarks have become a something of a collector’s item among COT alumni and friends as well as people throughout NC State and the UNC system. They are eagerly anticipated each year by those who normally receive them and gratefully accepted by College visitors from around the world. Traditionally, the designs have been produced by graduating seniors. But we want everyone in the COT family to have an opportunity to participate this year. We anticipate producing 3,000 bookmarks featuring the winning design.
To be considered, the design should meet the following requirements:
- 2-4 color graphic file or simulation (jpg or tiff) – see color information below
- 50mm x 205 mm rectangle (approximately 1.75 in x 6.5 in finished woven dimensions)
Submissions should also feature:
- The Wilson College of Textiles logo or the words “Wilson College of Textiles” (optional: “NC State”)
- The year: “2016”
- A representation of the COT building
- “25 Years on Centennial”
All designs must be submitted by April 1, 2016. A small team will review the submissions and select a winning entry. Acceptable variations of the Wilson College of Textiles logo can be found on the P drive and downloaded. Please reference the brand color palettes we’d like you to utilize follow.
When the bookmarks are distributed, they will be accompanied by a letter that introduces recipients to the designer.
Good luck to all students, faculty and staff. We can’t wait to see your designs!
