Learning to Lead

Over the past year, almost two dozen women at the Wilson College of Textiles have benefited from professional development grants through the Ellen Rohde Leadership Initiative. Female students, faculty and staff have been able to network and learn through travel to conferences, workshops and research opportunities worldwide as a result of these grants, honing their leadership skills and widening their career paths.

Textile Engineering, Chemistry and Science (TECS) professor Tushar Ghosh has been named the William A. Klopman Distinguished Professor in Textiles in recognition of his outstanding service to the Wilson College of Textiles and the broader textile industry.

Vinueza Named Outstanding Teacher

Nelson Vinueza, assistant professor in the Department of Textile Engineering, Chemistry and Science (TECS), has received the 2018-2019 Outstanding Teacher Award. He is one of 18 NC State professors presented with this year’s award, which recognizes excellence in teaching at all levels.
