Business Administration and Entrepreneurship Minors for TATM Students

TATM Policy on FTM Students Earning a Minor in Business Administration or Business Entrepreneurship

The College of Management offers Minors in Business Administration or Business Entrepreneurship. Admission to the minors is competitive and requires an application process. Details about the minors can be found at the links below.

For some FTM students, the Minor in Business Administration or Business Entrepreneurship may complement their degree program. In some cases, it can be earned with no additional coursework beyond what is required for the FTM degree.

 Business Administration Minor

Minor Students in the FTM degree are required to take ACC 210 and EC 201 as part of their major. The College of Management accepts EC 201 in place of the EC 205 requirement. Although MIE 201 is not specifically required for the FTM degree, FTM students may take it to satisfy 3 credits of their Interdisciplinary Perspectives Requirement. (MIE 201 will NOT count as an Elective within the FTM degree.) Students in the FTM degree are required to take BUS 320 as part of their major. Thus, they would need to select 2 additional courses from the requirement list. MIE 305, MIE 310, MIE 330, BUS 340, and BUS 370 are all classes that the TATM Department will count as Electives within the FTM degree (FDPM Concentration: FD and PM Electives, Brand Concentration: Brand Marketing and Management Electives).

While FTM students can take BUS 360 to satisfy the requirements of the Minor in Business Administration, this class will NOT count in the FTM degree, due to its similarity with other courses already required in the FTM degree.

Therefore, if an FTM student plans ahead and selects the right combination of courses, the Minor in Business in Administration can be earned with no additional coursework.
