With support from generous donors, the first four Textile Pioneer Scholars to graduate from the Wilson College of Textiles — Jeana Grace Bowker, Alex Hutchens, Emma Myer-Medina and Leah Reid — now have their eyes set on bright futures.
What started as a fun hobby has evolved into Jeana Grace Bowker designing full-fledged fashion collections, thanks to the textiles knowledge she gleaned and her life-changing scholarship. This spring, she became one of the first four Textile Pioneer Scholars to graduate from the Wilson College of Textiles.
Her expertise in brand management, combined with the vital connections she made through networking, landed Alex Hutchens multiple coveted internships during her time at the Wilson College of Textiles. Close ties to the Wilson College of Textiles begin when students first step foot onto campus, and those bonds strengthen even further for young alumni who are selected to join the Dean’s Young Alumni Leadership Council.
After meeting a Wilson College of Textiles recruiter, Meredith Corley felt an instant connection to the college that has since led to her successful career as a product development engineer at Antigua Apparel.
Thanks to her Wilson College education, Jordyn Scheitler ’21, ’22 was prepared to succeed as an associate product line manager at Under Armour. Today, she is the newest member of the Dean’s Young Alumni Leadership Council.
