Major and Concentration Changes

This page provides information for current Wilson College of Textiles students who are requesting to change either their major or concentration within their Textiles major.

All Wilson College of Textiles students who wish to change their major (or add a major) outside of Wilson College must go through the CODA process. Please review the requirements for the desired major on the CODA website.

Fashion and Textile Management

Students in a Textiles major other than Fashion and Textile Management who wish to change to Fashion and Textile Management should email a member of the ACSS advising team for assistance.

Students currently in the Fashion and Textile Management major who wish to change their concentration should email a member of the ACSS advising team with any questions. Please see the important information below:

  • An “all call” concentration change request will be sent to FTM students each September via email. Students requesting to change their concentration from Brand Management and Marketing (BMM) to Fashion Development and Product Management (FDPM) or from FDPM to BMM should use the designated “change of concentration form” sent via email during this change period.
  • After the designated change period, students in FDPM will be assigned a cohort in which they will begin their FDPM course sequencing (FTM 219 and FTM 271).
  • Students can request to change their FTM concentration outside of the designated change period by emailing a member of the ACSS advising team; however, these students may need to wait until the following September to receive their cohort placement.

Fashion and Textile Design

Students in a Textiles major other than Fashion and Textile Design who wish to change to Fashion and Textile Design must go through the CODA process. The CODA application and a portfolio and essay must be submitted by November 1 in order to be considered for a spot in the fall cohort (this program only admits once per year).
