TE | Information Systems Concentration
Whether tasked with improving production on the manufacturing floor or optimizing a company’s inventory or supply chain system, the Information Systems concentration of the Bachelor of Science in Textile Engineering (TE) degree prepares you to do either. You’ll learn how to use computer information systems to excel at better and more efficient decision-making. You’ll gain a background of building decision support systems that can be used in any organization inside and outside the textile complex.

The Details
TE Information Systems concentration graduates use their talents at companies like SAS, Google, HanesBrands Inc., Milliken, Glen Raven, Unifi, GAP, Patagonia, Abercrombie and Fitch, Bank of America, Duke Hospitals, Wells Fargo, etc.
Students in the Information Systems concentration learn the fundamentals of data analysis using computer systems to control high-tech machines, design and manage inventory and supply chain system, or build data warehouses for companies that need to store vital information.
Linked with Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE), the concentration automatically allows you to earn a minor in ISE with no additional courses or you can also pursue a minor in Computer Science. Some students have doubled majored in ISE as well. Students also learn the quality process improvement methodology called Six Sigma as part of their curriculum. The program encourages students to pursue their personal academic goals through summer internships, study abroad programs, capstone senior design projects, and undergraduate research.
